Membership Requirements

Please keep this sheet to document your fulfilled club requirements.
Below, please find the club requirements you will need to meet, as stated in our bylaws, to become a
full member of Gateway Australian Shepherd Club:

Section 3.  Membership

Section 3.1.  Eligibility

3.1.1.  Membership applicants must be in good standing with ASCA and shall subscribe and adhere to the
principles and objectives of GASC.  Persons who are currently suspended or expelled from ASCA may not join this
Club until they are reinstated in ASCA.  Membership shall be unrestricted as to race, color, creed, or sex, and
ownership of an Australian Shepherd shall not be a requirement of membership.  Membership with ASCA is not a
requirement of GASC.

3.1.2.  To become a membership candidate of GASC, one shall submit a GASC membership application along
with the proper membership fees to the Membership Secretary. The application shall provide that the applicant
agrees to abide by the Constitution, Bylaws, Rules, Regulations, Code of Ethics, and Dispute Rules of both ASCA
and GASC. The candidate period will be 12 months from the date on the application. Within this 12-month
time-frame, the candidate must attend two (2) general membership meetings and provide four (4) hours of Club
service. If the candidate is not able to make GASC general membership meetings, the candidate shall submit to
GASC's Board their reason for not being able to attend meetings (i.e., location or work hours). If the Board
approves the candidate's request for exemption from meetings, the candidate will be required to provide eight (8)
hours of club service in lieu of attending meetings. After a candidate meets the above-referenced requirements
and submits dates for verification to the Membership Secretary, the candidate will be voted on for full membership
at the following general membership meeting. Full membership shall be granted after receiving an affirmative
majority vote of the eligible voting members in attendance. Once a candidate becomes a full member, there are
no further membership requirements to fulfill.

3.1.3   Any person who renews membership is deemed to have consented to all current terms of the Constitution,
Bylaws, Rules, Policies, Procedures, Dispute Rules of both ASCA and GASC. Any person submitting membership
dues dated on or after October 1st shall be considered paid through the following fiscal year. The date shall be
determined by the date on the application.
